Welcome!
We are a community of people enthusiastic about permaculture based in Edinburgh. For over 4 years, we have been meeting to share knowledge and experience, and getting involved in permaculture projects in Edinburgh and around Scotland. Whether you want to share seeds from your allotment, have a garden you want to make into a permaculture oasis, or just want to ask: “what even is permaculture?” please come along!

What we do
Meet and learn
We have meetings every two weeks where we discuss various topics about permaculture and growing in a “world cafe” style of self-education. Often, someone brings a topic they are knowledgeable in and teaches the group about it. If there is a topic you’re passionate about, or questions you want to ask, it’s a great space to learn. It’s also where we share projects and events and plan visits as a group.
When and where
We meet every other Thursday in the Upper Apex Cafe at Napier University. To see our most recent events, please check our Facebook or Meetup.

Visits
We often organize trips to permaculture sites in Edinburgh and around Scotland. Places we have visited include:
We share rides and do what we can to make trips happen. If there is somewhere you would like to go, we are always looking for new places and keen to visit place again!
Projects

We’re often involved in projects as volunteer consultants and volunteer practitioners. Many people come to meetings with garden projects they want advise or help with.
We help brainstorm, research, design, and execute permaculture projects at various sizes from back gardens to farm-size sites.

We have been involved in various projects in and around Edinburgh. Some highlights include:
- Helped design, build, and plant beds for a women’s aid in Edinburgh.
- Helped design a permaculture site and plant over 300 trees at a coaching centre in the Scottish Borders.
The group offers a great space for people keen to get practical experience linked up with people who need a hand!

We will soon be moving our small community library of permaculture-related books, magazines, and films to a new home in Napier University, where they will be accessible after each meeting. If you are interested in borrowing any, please come along to a meeting and we will provide further information.
See you soon!
